Craziness (or is it laziness?)

Filed under: Finished Projects,New Projects — by Megan @ 8:09 pm

Hello friend Natalie!

So, as you can see from the title, I’m blaming my lack of posting on either craziness or laziness.  I have been working about 10 hours a day, and I start around 6 so I think craziness is definitely applicable, but I do finish between 4&5 and starbucks and caribou coffee with free wifi are very close so it shouldn’t have been too much trouble to get to one of them and post …

I started horseback riding lessons also, which takes away one of my evenings (and then the next evening because I’m soaking my poor, sore, battered muscles in a hot bath).  I had the first one this past Tuesday, and it was wonderful, but then I was SO sore.  I took a bath when I got home in the hopes of giving the muscles enough of a rest that they wouldn’t be so painful, but I didn’t have any luck with that.  I was in pain when I sat down all day yesterday, and today it’s painful to walk.  I think they’ll get better just in time to be abused again in the next lesson, and I’ll go through the whole thing again!

Today is also day 4 of 12, so I’m trying to take it easy and pace myself so I’m not burned out by next Friday.  Next weekend is going to be spent laying around and doing as little as I can possibly get away with!  I might make a trip to a yarn store to enjoy the yarn and buy something for weaving.

Speaking of which, I got the loom out when I got home today, took off the mess that is my first project and picked out some nice stash yarn to make purple placemats.  I started warping the loom, then decided I need to go out and do something because I PASSED ALL MY LICENSING EXAMS!!  That’s right, I am officially licensed to practice pharmacy in two states.  I’m excited!

I did take pictures (I swear!) but in my hurry to leave the apartment before my bed or the couch called too loudly to my sleep-deprived brain I forgot both the camera card and the cable to transfer them.

So just trust me that I finished the blanket for the friend who has a baby due in August (that’s right–August of THIS YEAR.  Not next year.  Joyce should be so proud and Jill should be shocked!)  And I started a new sweater (believing that doesn’t take much at all, I start new projects more often than I do dishes or laundry).

I love all the projects and spinning!!  I would like to get some of this handspun yarn as a ‘congratulations, you’re licensed’ present.  What’s the chance of that happening?  Less than zero?

Great find with the magazines!  What great projects/articles have you found?  I bet you have a lot of stuff in there to enjoy, it will keep you busy for awhile!  I would like a picture of the finished sweater complete with buttons as soon as possible.  If I had internet (or if there were any unsecure networks in my building) I’d totally post pictures.  If I could do it from the comfort of my home it would be so much easier.  But, I’m trying to save yarn and horse money by not getting internet and cable.  It’s going to be a long year!

I think that’s about all I have to update now.  I better get some work done so I’m not at work until 7 on a Friday night!  I want to be at home, curled up and watching movies with my knitting to relax before my first weekend working at this job!
